Help!

March 2011

20,000 women nationwide need your help to pay for a mammogram or screening.

In our current economic crisis many women across the nation are in need of free screenings. In South Florida alone we have nearly 750 women who need a screening now. Most of these women have recently discovered a lump in their breast or have a family history of breast cancer in their family and cannot afford to pay for an exam. Either they do not have insurance or current employment or any other means to pay for these screenings/mammograms.

They desperately need your help!

Two ways you can help:

    1. With your on-going donations we can to continue offering low cost and/or free screenings or complete diagnostic mammograms to those who need them. Screenings can can cost as little as $90 and can go as high as $1,500 depending on the clinic or hospital. Use your credit or debit card to donate today. As little as $1 per month will help provide someone with a free screening. You can make your donation recurring monthly to help us continue offering free mammograms and giving thousands of women peace of mind that they can get a free screening/mammogram.

    2. Word of mouth advertising. Help us spread the word that we need donations so we can continue providing this valuable service. For every hundred dollars we spend in advertising we loose one free screening. We are counting on those of you who have found our website to spread the word.

Pink Campaigns is dedicated to provide women in need the assistance  necessary for peace of mind knowing that everything is fine. Catching Breast Cancer in its earliest stages is the key to eradicating this disease. Thousands of women today are Breast Cancer Survivors today because of early detection. Please Help us Help Someone Today!

The Holiday Season is Just Around the Corner

Second Annual

Operation Free Christmas Mammogram Campaign

Gets Underway October 1st.

We are starting our campaign/drive this month to raise funds for our FREE CHRISTMAS MAMMOGRAMS again this year. This is our second campaign year to provide as many mammograms as we can for women who cannot afford to pay for one, have no insurance and no job or do not fit into any of the categories for a free mammogram. An example of this is a young lady in her twenties would not qualify for a mammogram. Pink Campaigns is dedicated to provide as many as free mammograms as we have funds for.

Volunteers and Donations Needed

We are in desperate need of volunteers for upcoming events this year.

Other areas that we need volunteers:

  • Writers for newsletters--research and submit articles for our subscribers. Here is your opportunity to practice your writing skills.

  • Call center solicitors--Calling to ask for donations

  • Event planners--This is a position that could lead to full time employment.

  • Grant writers--If you have experience writing grants contact us. This could also lead to full time employment.

These are just a few of the positions we need. If you have free time and want to help us grow contact us immediately.

Due to the economy funds are getting scarce at Pink Campaigns and free mammograms may need to limited this year. With a major hospital in south Florida suffering financially we are unable to provide as many free mammograms as in the past.

We now need more funds to pay for the mammograms that we have been providing for free. If you would like to help ask your friends an neighbors to make a donation to Pink Campaigns.

Breast Cancer Awareness in Brazil

In Brazil as in most third world countries breast cancer awareness is very low. Estimated reported deaths are as high 40 to 60,000. In Rio de Janeiro alone there was 11,000 reported deaths in 2008.  *In Brazil  many women die  of this disease because of poverty and inadequate health care and in many cases their cause of death is unreported or not known.

According to the National Cancer Institute  in Brazil (INCA), cancer is the second greatest cause of death in Brazil, and it is projected to cause 49,400 (reported) new deaths in 2009.
In Brazil and as well as many other third world countries cancer awareness has not had the media attention as it has in the United States. Awareness is still not as actively publicized as it could be. Every time we go to Brazil we are amazed how little women know about breast cancer.

We are setting up  information centers at the malls and other locations throughout Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Brasilia and plan to move on to the rest of Brazil by the end of the year. We have budgeted to do Infomercials on television and newspapers ads. If you would like to help please make your donation using the donation button at the top left of this page. Or if you want to help in other ways feel free to contact us by email (admin@pinkcampaigns.org) or by phone (305) 372-1899.
